MEDITATION

Meditation is an umbrella term that refers to a set of techniques that allow you to retrain your attention to become more non analytical. Thus allowing your mind the choice to stray from ruminating on negative thoughts or sensations.

Our guided meditation offers a variety of breathing techniques, mantra meditations, general mindfulness, and work-based mindfulness  (finding ways to incorporate mindfulness into your workspace).

BENEFITS OF MEDITATION
+ While the experience and results are going to be different for each person, some of the benefits that can occur are:
+ Reduced stress
+ Sharpen your focus
+ Help increase compassion
+ Can help alleviate some mental health symptoms
+ Can improve relationship with the self and other people
+ Better sleep

Why would I need a teacher for this? Can't I just watch a video or use an app?
While the digital world has introduced meditation to a larger audience, what It lacks is the ability to tailor the practice for your specific needs. Anybody can sit down and pull up a video but you have to realize that what is being instructed is mostly generic in the sense that it may or may not resonate with your specific desires or understanding. Having a meditation teacher allows you to have a personalized approach, to have any questions or frustrations answered, and to have someone to hold you accountable when trying to make meditation a daily habit.

Do I have to be religious or spiritual to meditate?
Not at all. While the roots of meditation come from centuries of spiritual and religious doctrines, the act of mediation can be as spiritual or as secular as you'd like it to be. It's all about intentions.

What if I don’t have the time to practice?
We live in very busy and fast paced times and it may be hard for lots of people to find the time to dedicate for meditation. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to be meditating for an hour a day, 7 days a week to experience some benefit from it. In fact, spending just a few minutes a day can still have plenty of benefits. Starting small and building up is always a better way to go.

What if I don't have good concentration?
A big misconception about meditation is that it requires intense focus and diligent concentration. While some types of meditation do require that, many forms of it are as effortless and breathing.
