Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga

*THIS IS A DROP-IN GROUP CLASS. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

FIRST DROP-IN CLASS IS FREE.

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) classes can be healing for anyone who has experienced mental, emotional or physical trauma. When we live through traumatic experiences, such as abuse, assault or neglect, it can change how we interact with the world. Our minds may adapt by reliving the past, disconnecting from our bodies, or becoming hyper alert to what might happen in the future. While those adaptations help us survive traumatic experiences, they can make it hard to live in the present and feel like we're in control of our own life.

INSTRUCTOR: Kristin Sutter, RYT-200, TCTSY-F

Kristin Sutter is one of only 200 people in the world certified in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). It’s a cutting-edge, evidence-based practice (EBP) designed specifically to support people as they work through traumatic experiences in talk therapy. It is the only model of yoga clinically proven in a randomized controlled trial to reduce symptoms of PTSD.

This style of yoga can help people who have experienced trauma to feel safe in their body again, regain a sense of autonomy and improve their ability to connect with people in relationships.
