(Almost) Raw Energy Bites

Quick, simple, nutritious.  That's what these delicious little balls of energy are about! Once you have combined the basic ingredients, get creative and start making your own variety of flavors.  

Basic Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dry oats*
  • 2/3 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, sunflower seed…)
  • 1/2 cup ground flax seed
  • 1/3 cup honey 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

*Gluten-free oats are optional

This is your dough.  Now add ingredients from the variety of options below.  We have included a basic recipe and some of our favorite flavor combinations.                                       

Basic Energy Bites

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (cranberries, raisins, yogurt chips, etc.)
  • 1/2 Tbsp. chia seeds (crushed almonds, sunflower seeds, etc.)

Directions: Grind oats in a food processor to make the dough less coarse.  Stir all ingredients together in a medium bowl until totally mixed. Use a spoon to scoop up some dough and roll into a ball.  If the dough is too sticky, place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before forming into balls.  Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. 

Oatmeal Cookie Bites

  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1-2 Tbsp. crushed walnuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Protein Power Bites

  • 1/2 cup dry cranberries
  • 1/2 Tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 Tbsp pumpkin seeds

Spicy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp chia seeds
